Houthi Strikes on Saudi Oil Facilities Send Brent Crude Surging

Saudi Arabia's oil facilities were targeted by Houthi militants in a series of drone and ballistic missile attacks, which pushed Brent crude futures up 1.67% to $98.61 a barrel on Tuesday morning.

The strikes left at least 73 people wounded and suspended operations at several oil facilities and utilities, with firefighters working to contain fires at the affected sites.

The Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree said the rebels fired dozens of missiles and drones at oil and economic facilities in various cities, as well as a major air base.

Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki vowed retaliation against what he called a 'serious escalation'.
