Houthi Strikes Push Oil Prices Near $100 as Iran Tensions Escalate
Escalating tensions in the Middle East have pushed up oil prices to nearly $100 per barrel, following Houthi strikes on Saudi energy infrastructure. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed that the attacks resulted in 73 civilian injuries, including women and children.
The Trump administration is closely monitoring developments, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio stating that 'the Houthis, in many ways, are agents and proxies of the Iranians.' Rubio believes that 'behind some of this is clearly the Iranian hand.'
Houthi military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree warned that their attacks aren't over, saying they will continue to target Saudi military facilities and impose a siege until aggression stops.
