Houthi Terrorists Claim Attacks on Saudi Airport and Oil Facility
The Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen have claimed responsibility for attacks on a Saudi airport and an oil facility in Najran, a city in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen.
The Houthis used drones to carry out the military operations, targeting what they called a 'sensitive Saudi enemy site' at Najran Airport and a facility belonging to Saudi Aramco, the national energy company. However, the Saudi government has yet to confirm whether the attacks actually occurred or caused significant damage.
The Houthis' claims come hours after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement predicting that 'Saudi Arabia will certainly be unable to contain Yemen and Ansar Allah, or remain safe from their attacks.'
The escalating tensions in the region have raised concerns about the humanitarian situation in Yemen, where at least 18 million people are already food insecure. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has called on all parties to de-escalate tensions and spare the Yemeni people from further suffering.
