Houthis Attack Saudi Oil Refinery in Jizan
The Houthi movement has launched an attack on a Saudi Aramco oil refinery in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. According to Ansarollah, the attack occurred early in the morning local time, resulting in a fire on the refinery grounds.
Data from NASA's FIRMS monitoring service showed an abnormal rise in temperature at 4:17 a.m., confirming the incident.
The Aramco oil refinery in Jizan is one of the newest and most modern oil refining complexes in Saudi Arabia, with a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels per day. Commercial operations began in 2021, and the complex reached full capacity around 2023.
The Houthis are actively carrying out attacks on oil facilities and imposing a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia in support of Iran's actions. The movement has emphasized that its decision to impose a naval blockade is a response to what it calls 'the unjust and oppressive siege' allegedly imposed by Saudi Arabia on Yemen.
