Houthis Attack Saudi Oil Tanker with Ballistic Missiles
The Houthi movement in Yemen has claimed to have attacked a Saudi oil tanker named NCC Ghazal using ballistic missiles. The attack was reportedly carried out in response to the vessel's alleged violation of maritime navigation rules and ignoring warnings from the Houthis. According to the Houthi military spokesperson, Yahya Saree, the missile fire forced the tanker to change course.
The Houthis have maintained a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, citing the principle of 'blockade in response to blockade' and 'full escalation in response to full escalation'. This move is likely to escalate tensions between the two countries in the ongoing conflict over Yemen.
