Saudi Arabia has shut down a major pipeline after it was attacked by drones. The move comes just one day after the attack, which was carried out by Yemen's Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

The Houthis have also captured a strategic island at the southern entrance to the Red Sea, known as the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. This is one of the world's key shipping lanes and could potentially disrupt global oil supplies.

The Houthi advance marks their biggest territorial gains in years and could boost Iran's strategy of driving up world oil and gas prices to pressure the United States.
