Houthis Claim Attacks on Saudi Oil Tanker and Troop Concentrations

The Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for three operations targeting Saudi interests. In the first, they struck a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea off the coast of Yanbu with a ballistic missile, causing a fire on board.

The group also carried out two other operations against Saudi troop concentrations using ballistic missiles and drones. The first targeted a large convoy carrying military equipment near the border with Saudi Arabia, damaging or destroying over ten trucks carrying arms from Saudi territory.

A separate operation was conducted in Al-Kanais, a desert area near the Yemen-Saudi border, where dozens of personnel were killed or injured and several weapons depots damaged or destroyed. The Houthi group's actions have revived fears of a return to full-scale conflict in Yemen, which has been plagued by war since 2014.
