Houthis Claim Ballistic Missile Attack On Saudi Oil Tanker In Red Sea

The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed to have fired ballistic missiles at a Saudi oil tanker, NCC GHAZAL, in the Red Sea. The group accused the vessel of violating their recently announced maritime blockade on Saudi-linked shipping.

According to Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, several ballistic missiles were used in the operation and claimed the tanker was forced to turn back.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a master of a nearby tanker heard an explosion while transiting the southern Red Sea, but confirmed that the vessel and its crew were safe with no environmental damage reported.
