Houthis Claim Direct Strike on Saudi Forces in Mokha, Yemen

The Houthi movement in Yemen claimed to have carried out a direct strike on Saudi forces in the port city of Mokha, located in southwestern Yemen. The attack, which used multiple ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), resulted in extensive destruction of Saudi military equipment and weapons, according to Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree.

The strike caused significant loss of life, with at least 11 people killed, including three civilians and eight military personnel. The attack has raised concerns over the possible expansion of the front line in Yemen, which has been embroiled in a nearly 12-year conflict between government forces and the Iranian-backed Houthi movement.

The fighting in Yemen has intensified periodically since last month, leaving dozens of people dead and wounded on both sides. The Houthi movement had previously claimed responsibility for attacks targeting Saudi oil facilities.
