Houthis Claim Drone Attacks on Saudi Airport and Aramco Facility
The Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for drone attacks on a Saudi airport and an Aramco facility in southern Saudi Arabia. According to Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, two drone strikes were carried out, one hitting a 'sensitive target' at Najran airport and the other targeting a facility belonging to Saudi state oil giant Aramco.
The attacks, which the Houthis claim achieved their objectives, come in response to what they describe as Saudi drone incursions into Yemen's northern province of Saada. There has been no immediate comment from Saudi authorities or Aramco on the Houthi claims.
The escalation comes amid intensifying fighting across several fronts in the war-torn country. Yemeni government forces have reported 81 military operations against Houthi positions over the past 24 hours, killing or wounding a number of Houthi members and field commanders.
