Houthis Claim Missile Strike on Saudi Oil Tanker in Red Sea

A Yemeni-led missile strike on a Saudi oil tanker in the Red Sea has been claimed by Houthi forces. According to the group's military spokesperson, Yahya Sarea, the tanker 'Amzan' was hit off the coast of Yanbu, causing a fire aboard the vessel.

Sarea described the strike as 'precise and direct', saying several other vessels had left the area afterward. He stated that the attack was part of the group's declared maritime ban on Saudi shipping under what it calls a 'blockade-for-blockade' policy.

The strike occurred in the northern Red Sea, approximately 63 nautical miles west of Yanbu. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a tanker had been struck by an 'unknown projectile', but did not identify the vessel or assign blame.
