Houthis Claim Responsibility for Aramco Refinery Attack

The Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for an attack on an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia. The strike occurred early Sunday morning at an Aramco facility in Jizan, where a fire broke out but was quickly extinguished. No one was injured. The Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said the rebels used a drone to hit the refinery.

The attack follows recent tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia, as well as between Iran and the United States. Iran's Supreme National Security Council has demanded that the US change its 'behavior' in order for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen. The council's secretary, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, said the US must end its naval blockade of Iranian ports, withdraw its forces from the region, and lift sanctions.

The US did not immediately comment on Iran's demands. Saudi Arabia has recently formed an alliance with Turkey and Pakistan in response to the growing regional instability caused by the conflict between Iran and the US.
