Houthis Claim Responsibility for Oil Facility Attack in Saudi Arabia

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for an attack on an oil facility in southwestern Saudi Arabia. The strike, carried out using a drone, targeted an Aramco refinery in the city of Jazan and was reportedly precise, according to Yahya Saree, a military spokesperson for the Houthis.

The attack comes amid Iran's new demands linked to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The Houthi rebels have been increasing their attacks on Saudi Arabia since the 2022 truce in Yemen's civil war appeared to collapse last month.

The Saudi Energy Ministry reported a fire at a facility belonging to the Aramco refinery without casualties, and said it was extinguished.
