The Iran-aligned Houthi military has claimed to have targeted eight Saudi oil tankers since announcing a maritime navigation ban on Saudi shipping on July 20.

According to Yahya Saree, the Houthi-run Saba news agency reports that five of these tankers were targeted in the Red Sea and three in the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea.

The group has also reportedly prevented 48 Saudi oil tankers from passing through, including 34 in the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean and 14 in the Red Sea. They have allegedly forced these ships to turn back.
