Houthis Escalate Attacks on Saudi Arabia, 73 Injured
Tensions between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthi rebels have escalated significantly in recent days. The conflict has led to a surge in violence, resulting in at least 73 individuals sustaining injuries according to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
The Houthis, backed by Iran, have declared a naval blockade on Riyadh since July. This move has been followed by attacks targeting Saudi vessels in the Red Sea and civilian and economic landmarks in the kingdom. The coalition's spokesperson, Colonel Turki al-Malki, confirmed that these strikes were aimed at major oil exporter and key OPEC player, Saudi Arabia.
The cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran have been targeted in this escalation. Reports from the Financial Times suggest that Aramco's Jazan oil facilities were among the hits, although this has yet to be independently verified.
