Houthis Expand Foothold on Yemen's Red Sea Coast with Wave of Missile Strikes

Houthi militants have launched missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, targeting military airbases and oil infrastructure. The strikes, which began in July, have resulted in over 100 injuries to civilians.

The Houthi rebels announced they had fired dozens of missiles and drones at a military airbase in Khamis Mushait, causing damage to aircraft hangars, radar systems, runways, and ammunition depots. The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen reported that the attacks injured 13 civilians.

Riyadh faces a dilemma as it tries to balance its security concerns with economic development needs, according to Neil Quilliam of Chatham House. Quilliam noted that the Houthi rebels are increasingly able to threaten both Saudi security and economic interests.
