Houthis Launch Drone Strikes on Saudi Arabia Amid Escalating Tensions
Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels have escalated their attacks on Saudi Arabia, claiming to have successfully targeted an airport and an Aramco facility in the southern Najran region. According to military spokesman Yahya Saree, the group used drones to carry out two separate operations: one against a sensitive site at Najran Airport and another against the Aramco facility.
The Houthis' actions come as Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that Saudi Arabia would be 'unable to contain' the rebels as they step up their attacks on the kingdom. Yemen has been embroiled in a decade-long civil conflict, with the Houthis ramping up operations against the country's Saudi-backed government.
The Houthis have also announced plans to seize land along the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which would give them control over a vital shipping artery. The group has already welcomed an Iranian plane in their capital Sanaa, sparking a series of tit-for-tat attacks between the two sides.
