Houthis Launch Wave of Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Igniting Oil Facilities and Leaving Hundreds Injured
A wave of attacks by Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia has left over 70 people injured and set multiple oil facilities ablaze. The assault, which targeted several cities in southern Saudi Arabia, was part of a major escalation in the ongoing conflict between the Iranian-backed Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
The attacks came after weeks of escalating clashes between Houthi forces and Saudi-backed government troops in Yemen, which had shattered a four-year truce in the country's civil war. The violence has now spread to multiple fronts, including the west coast of Yemen, where government forces claim to have made territorial gains.
According to officials, the Houthi attacks on Tuesday injured 73 people, including women and children, and ignited fires at several oil facilities in Saudi Arabia's southern region. The attacks also targeted major industrial hubs and air bases in the kingdom, prompting a strong response from the Saudi-led coalition.
