Houthis Launch Wave of Attacks on Saudi Arabia's Oil Facilities

A wave of Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia has left over 70 people wounded and ignited fires at several oil facilities and utilities in the kingdom's southern region. The attacks, which occurred early Tuesday, targeted 'civilian and economic facilities' in the cities of Abha's Jazan, Najran, and Khamis Mushait, according to Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

The Houthi rebels have been at odds with the Saudi-backed government forces in Yemen, which shattered a four-year truce in the country's civil war. The conflict has raged on fronts including Yemen's west coast, with government forces claiming territorial gains in the provinces of Hodeida, Taiz, and Baydah.

The Houthis have also launched attacks on Saudi oil facilities and tankers in the Red Sea, prompting a response from the Saudi-led coalition. Al-Malki vowed retaliation against the 'terrorist Houthi militia,' saying that the coalition 'will take all necessary operational measures to deter' them.
