Houthis Strike Saudi Aramco Facility in Jizan
The Houthi group in Yemen claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a Saudi Aramco facility in Jizan, southwestern Saudi Arabia. The facility is a major crude oil refinery located on the Red Sea coast.
The attack was reportedly carried out in retaliation for Saudi drone strikes on Yemen's Saada and Hajjah provinces. In a statement, the Houthis said they 'successfully targeted the Aramco refinery in Jizan with a drone,' adding that the attack was 'in response to the Saudi enemy's drones incursions into the airspace of Saada and Hajjah governorates.'
The Saudi Energy Ministry confirmed that a fire broke out at dawn at a facility belonging to Saudi Aramco's refinery in Jazan, but stated that it had been extinguished by the company's firefighting teams. No injuries were reported.
