Houthis Strike Saudi Aramco Refinery, Targeting Key Oil Facility

The Iran-aligned Houthis have attacked Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery in Saudi Arabia, targeting one of the kingdom's key oil processing facilities. The attack came just two days after Saudi Arabia signed a defense pact with Turkey and Pakistan in response to regional instability.

The Houthis used a drone to target the refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day in southwestern Saudi Arabia. This is not the first time the Houthis have struck Aramco facilities in Jazan, as they had previously targeted the site.

Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen's Saudi-backed presidential council, briefed U.S. Mission to Yemen Chargé d'Affaires Neil Hop on the developments, saying the attack put a responsibility on the international community to address the Houthi threat and its sources.
