Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Facilities Amid Tensions in Middle East
The Houthi group in Yemen has launched attacks on two Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Jizan and Yanbu, claiming it as retaliation for air strikes on Hodeidah port and Kamaran Island.
The group vowed to maintain their blockade on Saudi-linked shipping through the Bab el-Mandeb strait in response to the kingdom's blockade on Yemen and an attack on the international airport in Sanaa.
The waterway has become a vital passage for Riyadh's oil exports after US-Iran tensions severely curtailed shipping out of the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz.
The Houthi statement said that 'in response to this blatant and criminal aggression, the Yemeni armed forces carried out two qualitative military operations' targeting Aramco facilities with ballistic missiles and drones.
