Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Infrastructure Amid Rising Regional Tensions
The Iran-aligned Houthis have escalated tensions in the region by targeting Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery. This attack came shortly after Saudi Arabia entered a defense agreement with Turkey and Pakistan.
A fire erupted at the refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil daily, but was soon extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by Saudi officials.
Aramco CEO Amin Nasser assured that recent strikes have caused minimal impact on operations. However, he also acknowledged that continuous threats from the Houthis have disrupted global energy supplies.
