Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Installations, Disrupting Global Supplies
The Houthi militants in Yemen fired on Saudi oil installations at two ports on the Red Sea coast, targeting sites belonging to Aramco. The attack comes as the war in the Gulf continues to disrupt global supplies.
Aramco's refinery in Jizan was hit, with a large column of smoke rising from the area. Asia-based trading sources confirmed that there may be damage to fuel and oil storage sites at Jizan.
In Yanbu, two ballistic missiles aimed at oil installations were intercepted by a U.S.-made Patriot battery operated in Saudi Arabia by the Greek military.
The Houthis have been escalating their attacks on Saudi targets, with Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi declaring that all Saudi oil facilities would be targeted if Riyadh escalated its involvement in the conflict.
