Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Refinery Amid Regional Tensions
Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi rebels have launched an attack on Saudi Arabia's Jazan refinery, targeting the facility two days after the kingdom signed a defense pact with Turkey and Pakistan. The alliance aims to strengthen collective deterrence against aggression.
The Houthis used a drone to target the refinery, which processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day in southwestern Saudi Arabia. A fire broke out at the refinery but was later extinguished without any injuries or fatalities.
Earlier this month, the Houthi rebels declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea, citing what they claimed was a Saudi siege on them. The Saudi energy ministry denied these allegations.
