The Houthi movement in Yemen, also known as Ansar Allah, has claimed responsibility for attacking a Saudi oil tanker called NCC Ghazal with ballistic missiles. The attack allegedly occurred due to the vessel's violation of maritime navigation rules and ignoring warnings.

According to Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesperson, the operation was carried out in response to Saudi Arabia's own blockade of Yemeni waters. Saree emphasized that the Houthis will continue their maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia based on the principle of 'blockade in response to blockade and full escalation in response to full escalation.'
