Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Tanker with Ballistic Missiles in Red Sea

Yemen's Houthi rebels have announced that they executed a targeted strike against a Saudi oil tanker in the northern Red Sea, framing the operation as part of an escalating maritime blockade.

The operation struck the Saudi oil tanker 'Wafaa' off the coast of the port city of Yanbu, with a number of ballistic missiles.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree stated that the strike was accurate, and said the total number of vessels hit by their forces since the start of the maritime ban last month has reached eight Saudi oil ships.

The Houthi rebels have tightened restrictions around the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the southern Red Sea, prompting the Saudis to reroute their oil shipments through the northern Red Sea.
