Houthis Strike Saudi Oil Tankers, WTI Price Takes a Hit
The Iran-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for missile attacks on two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, according to a Reuters report. The Houthi military spokesman stated that these were the eighth and ninth Saudi oil tankers targeted since the start of the blockade last month.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an incident southeast of Aden, but it is unclear whether this was the same attack as the one claimed by the Houthis. The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) price was down 0.20% on the day at $74.22.
