The conflict in the Middle East has escalated as Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis attacked Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery on Sunday. The refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

The attack was carried out using a drone, according to Yahya Saree, a military spokesperson for the Houthis. This is not the first time the Houthis have targeted Aramco sites in Jazan.

Meanwhile, Iran and Oman are negotiating a deal that would define new shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. However, Tehran has stated that the waterway will only reopen if the US meets certain conditions, including compensation for its attacks on Iranian targets and lifting sanctions against Iran.
