The Houthi group in Yemen claims to have targeted eight Saudi oil tankers since July 20, when they declared a maritime blockade on Saudi shipping.

The Houthis also claim that nearly 50 Saudi oil tankers had been 'prevented from transiting the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea and forced to return.'

Saba news agency reported that the group said five of these tankers were in the Red Sea, while three were in the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea.
