Houthis Target Saudi Aramco Oil Hub, Massive Fire Erupts at Jizan Refinery
A massive fire has erupted at Saudi Arabia's Jizan refinery after it was reportedly targeted by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi group. The group claimed that they carried out the strike in response to Saudi drone overflights, but their account has not been independently verified.
The incident occurred early on August 11, with the fire being brought under control within hours. No injuries were reported, according to the Saudi Energy Ministry.
Jizan's location on the Red Sea and close proximity to the Yemeni border add to the sensitivity of the situation, amid ongoing tensions between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces in Yemen.
