Houthis Vow Comprehensive Escalation Against Saudi Arabia
The Houthi movement in Yemen has threatened to escalate their conflict with Saudi Arabia, citing restrictions imposed by Riyadh. The group has established three rules of engagement: countering Saudi maritime shipping restrictions with a blockade, striking Saudi military deployments, and defending Yemen's sovereignty.
Houthi forces have targeted eight Saudi oil vessels since banning all Saudi maritime shipping on July 20, according to Yahya Saree, the Ansar Allah military spokesperson. Five of these attacks occurred in the Red Sea, while three took place in the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea.
The group has also launched nine attacks against Yanbu, Najran, Jizan, and Abha, as well as oil supplies in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Additionally, 14 operations targeted Saudi military deployments in various locations.
