Hudong-Zhonghua Completes Naming Ceremony for K Line and Petronas LNG Carriers

Chinese shipbuilder Hudong-Zhonghua has completed a naming ceremony for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers it built for Japan's K Line and Malaysia's Petronas. The vessels, Puteri Kelantan and Puteri Negeri Sembilan, have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters each.

The project consisted of building four LNG carriers for Petronas, with the remaining two expected to be delivered in the future. Hudong-Zhonghua has previously delivered two other vessels, X-DF vessels Puteri Johor and Puteri Kedah, which are owned by K Line joint venture companies.

In addition to these vessels, Hudong-Zhonghua announced that it will continue to expand its cooperation with Petronas this year. The shipbuilder has signed a contract with Petronas' unit MISC to build 5+5 LNG carriers with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters.
