Hungary's sweet corn industry is facing increasingly extreme weather conditions, rising costs, and depressed market prices, making adaptation essential to remain competitive, according to Syngenta.

The company noted that Hungary remains one of Europe's leading sweet corn producers, but the sector has decreased in recent years from 35,000 hectares to 25,000 hectares. The share of irrigated farmland has increased during this time.

Syngenta experts emphasized that irrigation is no longer optional for reliable cultivation due to these changing conditions.
