i-80 Gold Terminates Legacy Off-take Agreement, Preserves Cash
i-80 Gold Corp has terminated its Vox Royalty off-take agreement, effective June 26, 2026. The agreement, which had been scheduled to run through December 31, 2028, required i-80 Gold to deliver up to 40,000 ounces of refined gold annually from the Granite Creek and Ruby Hill properties in Nevada.
The termination comes with a settlement consideration of US$4.8 million, funded entirely through the issuance of 3,453,237 common shares at an agreed price of US$1.39 per share. This equity-based settlement allows i-80 Gold to preserve its substantial cash position of US$513.5 million, which is earmarked for key development projects in Nevada.
The off-take agreement was originally established with the Orion Funds in June 2016 and later amended in August 2023 before being transferred to Vox Royalty Corp. This legacy contract was negotiated under a fundamentally different gold price environment than today's market, where spot prices have been historically elevated.
