IAG Surges on Gold Rebound and Strong Q2 Results
IAMGOLD (IAG) shares have surged by 6.8% today as gold prices and the company's recent strong quarterly results support its stock price.
The increase is likely due to a broader rebound in gold and gold-mining shares, which tends to lift IAMGOLD because its earnings are highly sensitive to bullion prices.
In second-quarter 2026 results released on August 6, IAMGOLD reported 188,100 ounces of attributable production and adjusted EBITDA of $507.3 million.
The company's management said Côté Gold operated near full capacity in June after equipment and plant improvements, and it expects production to rise while unit costs decline through the second half of 2026.
