Idaho Gas Prices Hit Record Highs Amid Ongoing Oil Tensions
Idaho gas prices have been steadily increasing, and this year's Labor Day weekend was no exception. Typically, gas prices drop after Labor Day as people stay closer to home and winter-blend fuel becomes cheaper to produce, says Matthew Conde of AAA Idaho. However, this year is different due to ongoing oil tensions and the war with Iran.
Diesel prices are also on the rise, nearing six dollars a gallon in some areas, with one Idaho resident paying five dollars per gallon for their commute. The state's average gas price is $4.62 per gallon, making it the seventh most expensive in the nation. Washington State has the second-highest gas prices at $5.51 per gallon, while California tops the list at $5.86.
Idahoans are feeling the pinch as prices continue to climb, with some residents paying nearly $1.16 more per gallon compared to last year's Labor Day weekend. To make the most of their gas mileage, experts suggest stretching every gallon a little farther by implementing simple changes in daily driving habits.
