Idaho Gas Prices Soar Amid Middle East Conflict

The ongoing Middle East conflict has significantly impacted Idaho's gas prices, according to AAA. Tensions in the region have disrupted key shipping routes, specifically the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, where oil tankers are facing difficulties navigating. This has led to higher prices at the pump.

The alternative route for Saudi Arabia to reroute some oil shipments through the Mediterranean Sea would extend delivery times and add transportation costs, further increasing prices.

Idaho's average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.23 on July 24, up 18 cents from the previous week, 3 cents from last month, and 75 cents from the same period last year. The national average also rose to $4.10 per gallon.
