Idaho Gas Prices Soar to $4.42 Per Gallon, Highest in Nation
Idaho's gas prices continue to soar, reaching $4.42 per gallon, up 7 cents from last week and 91 cents from this time last year.
The high prices are attributed to a limited supply of gasoline in the state, which is mainly transported through pipelines from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Idaho ranks seventh nationally for gasoline costs, with prices currently higher than the national average of $4.06 per gallon.
A spokesperson for AAA Idaho notes that a jittery crude oil market and lack of refineries in the West are contributing to the high gas prices, but predicts that if fuel demand decreases, prices may improve.
