IGL Hikes CNG Prices Across Delhi-NCR Amid Soaring LNG Costs
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Rs 3.89 per kg across Delhi-NCR, citing a sharp rise in the cost of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The latest revision takes effect from Saturday and will see CNG priced at Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi.
Prices have been raised to Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, Rs 95.47 per kg in Meerut, and Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram.
This marks the fifth CNG price hike by IGL this year and the first since May, when prices were raised by a cumulative Rs 6 per kg in four phases over 10 days amid global energy price increases due to the West Asia conflict.
The sharp rise in international LNG prices has nearly doubled since July compared with levels before the conflict, driven by tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and preparations for the European winter season.
