IGL Hikes Delhi-NCR CNG Prices Due to Elevated LNG Costs
Indraprastha Gas (IGL) has increased CNG prices in Delhi-NCR by ₹3.89 per kg, effective from August 29, 2026.
The revised rate in Delhi is now at ₹86.98 per kg, while Noida and Ghaziabad rates have adjusted to ₹95.59 per kg.
IGL cited elevated LNG import costs as the reason for the price hike, stating that it was a necessary cost-pass-through mechanism to cushion the company against soaring international spot LNG benchmark prices.
The increase in CNG prices is likely to exert upward pressure on local transport and freight tariffs, given the heavy reliance of NCR public transport fleets on CNG.
