IGL Raises CNG Prices by Rs 3.89/kg Amid Rising LNG Costs
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased compressed natural gas (CNG) prices by Rs 3.89 per kg across Delhi-NCR, citing a sharp rise in the cost of imported liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The latest revision effective Saturday sees CNG now costing Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi, with prices raised to Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida and Ghaziabad, Rs 95.47 per kg in Meerut, and Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram.
This marks the fifth CNG price hike by IGL this year and the first since May, when prices were raised by a cumulative Rs 6 per kg in four phases over 10 days due to global energy price increases amid the West Asia conflict.
The current increase comes as international LNG prices have nearly doubled since July compared with levels before the conflict, driven by renewed tensions in West Asia disrupting cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz.
