IGL Raises CNG Prices in Delhi Amid Surge in LNG Costs

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has increased the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in Delhi by Rs 3.89 per kg, effective August 29.

The new CNG price in Delhi is now Rs 86.98 per kg, with the company attributing the increase to higher spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices in international markets.

The latest adjustment comes amidst renewed disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments, and increased costs for imported gas.

Commuters and commercial vehicle operators who rely heavily on CNG as a relatively economical transport fuel are likely to be affected by the price revision.
