INA Uncovers Major New Gas Reserves in Northern Adriatic
Croatia's energy company INA has made a significant natural gas discovery in the northern Adriatic, according to Sinisa Malus of Poslovni. The newly completed Ana-4 DIR well reached a depth of 1,282 meters and produced around 160,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day.
The well is one of INA's strongest-performing gas wells, and the discovery reinforces previous expectations that the offshore area still holds substantial untapped reserves. The results confirm that Croatia's offshore gas fields contain considerable remaining reserves despite decades of production.
INA is investing approximately €65 million in a multi-year program to increase domestic gas production from the northern Adriatic. The project is strategically important as it strengthens Croatia's energy security and reduces reliance on imported natural gas.
