India Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Warns Freedom of Navigation Threatened
India has condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, which targeted civilian and economic facilities. The Indian government warned that such attacks undermine regional security, stability, and freedom of navigation through the Bab-el-Mandeb strait.
The Houthi movement, backed by Iran, launched a wave of missile and drone attacks on southern Saudi Arabia, injuring 73 people, including women and children. The attacks struck energy and economic infrastructure as well as a military base in the cities of Abha, Jazan, Najran, and Khamis Mushait.
Saudi authorities reported fires broke out at several oil facilities and utilities, with operations temporarily suspended. Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed dozens of ballistic missiles and drones were fired at Aramco facilities and a military base.
