India Crude Oil Basket Price Plunges 32% to $77.6 Per Barrel
India's crude oil basket price has dropped to $77.6 per barrel in July, a significant decline from the $114.5 level seen in April.
This reduction is expected to lower the nation's import bill and stabilize the current account deficit.
As India is a large importer of crude oil, its trade balance is highly sensitive to global energy price movements.
The government's Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary noted that the price drop will help manage pressure on the current account, combined with steady services exports and strong remittance inflows.
