India Cuts LPG Refill Booking Gap to 25 Days Across All Areas
The Indian government has reduced the minimum gap for booking domestic LPG cylinder refills from 45 days to 25 days, effective immediately. This change applies uniformly across urban and rural areas, regardless of consumer location.
The decision was made by the Petroleum Ministry, which had introduced different booking intervals earlier this year in response to a Middle East conflict that put pressure on LPG supplies. The ministry cited a significant reduction in refill backlogs as a reason for revising the existing 25-day interval for urban areas and introducing it uniformly across all domestic consumers.
The government has directed state-run oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to implement the revised inter-refill booking interval of 25 days with immediate effect.
