India Cuts LPG Refill Booking Interval to 25 Days Amid Improved Supply Chain

India's government has reduced the booking interval for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refills from 45 days to 25 days, according to Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi. The revised interval will apply uniformly to LPG consumers in both urban and rural areas.

Gopi shared a letter from the Petroleum Ministry that explained the change was made due to the significant reduction in refill backlogs since the conflict in the Middle East in February 2026. The ministry had previously set a 25-day booking interval for urban areas and 45 days for rural areas as a temporary measure.

The revised interval will be implemented uniformly across all domestic LPG consumers, including those in rural areas, with immediate effect.
