India Dismisses Reports on Proposed Middle East-India Deepwater Pipeline
The Indian government has dismissed reports of a proposed deep-sea energy pipeline connecting India to Gulf nations, stating that no such project is currently under consideration.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) issued an official clarification on Tuesday, rejecting media reports suggesting the existence of the Middle East-India Deepwater Pipeline (MEIDP). The proposed pipeline would have connected Gujarat to Oman and other Gulf countries.
According to the MoPNG, there are no active discussions or negotiations with Oman or any other Gulf countries on this project at any level in the Ministry. This clarification aims to put all speculation surrounding the project to rest.
