India Ensures Uninterrupted Fuel Supply Amid Global Tensions
The Indian government has assured an uninterrupted fuel supply to essential services such as households, hospitals, and educational institutions. According to Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, domestic LPG production at refineries has increased by over 30%.
Sharma also announced that commercial LPG cylinders have been made available for priority distribution to consumers. Additionally, an additional allocation of 48,000 kilolitres of kerosene has been provided to all states and Union Territories.
The government has activated alternative fuel options to ease pressure on LPG, including the use of coal and kerosene as substitutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasizing the safety and well-being of Indian nationals in the region.
